The horizontal shaft of an open-end spinning rotor runs in a thrust bearing contained in a sealed housing, which is in the form of an oil sump supplied from a central reservoir. Lubrication to the actual bearing is by wicking devices or felt pads of specified form, atomised oil spray, or by the disc forming the thrust bearing running partly immersed in the oil bath. One oil sump may serve several spinning rotor shafts, possibly on both sides of a spinning machine. |
