A cop 5 is clamped between members on spindles 7 and 9 spindle 9 being adjusted longitudinally to effect the clamping. The yarn or yarns to be twisted pass over pulleys 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 to the draw-off means, the pulley 21 being deflectable by increasing yarn tension. Movement of pulley 21 operates a lever which adjusts a hysteresis brake 13 acting on pulleys 11, 12 through which the spool is driven so that the tension in the yarn is maintained constant. Spindle 9 is threaded in a bowl 10 which is manually operable to effect longitudinal adjustment of the spindle.</p> |
