PURPOSE:To read electric charge of one frames share even from a vertical CCD while improving a hybrid image sensor by assigning two photo diodes and one cell of a vertical CCD making it possible for photoelectric conversion to each of three primary colors. CONSTITUTION:One picture element consists of two photo diodes 2 arranged vertically and one cell of a vertical CCD 3 arranged aside. A cell of a 1st horizontal CCD 4 is connected to the output of each vertical CCD 3 and the cells are connected to the cell of the 2nd horizontal CCD 5. The 1st horizontal CCD 4 and a 2nd horizontal CCD 5 correspond to two photo diodes 2 in one picture element respectively. On the other hand, the signal electric charge generated in the vertical CCD 3 is transferred to the 1st storage section 6 via two horizontal CCDs 4, 5 and the signal charge of the picture element belonging to the field A is transferred to a 3rd horizontal CCD 8 and the signal charge of the picture element belonging to the field B is transferred to a 4th horizontal CCD 11 via a 2nd storage section and they are read out.
