PURPOSE:To improve the product accuracy and to reduce a man-hour by pressing and cladding a folded overlap by an upper chip and a lower chip and applying an ultrasonic oscillation parallel to the overlapping surface of the folded overlap to perform the welding. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic welding machine 20 is provided as welding equipment and the upper chip 40 and the lower chip 50 to press and clad an object 100 to be welded having the folded overlap 108 are arranged. After respective panels of the overlap 108 are clad by both the chips 40 and 50, the oscillation of an ultrasonic oscillator 60 is applied in the parallel direction to the overlapping surface of the panels. At this time, the welding is performed by the frictional heating between the doubled panels mutually. Since the thermal strain is not caused on the overlap 108, the finishing repair after being welded becomes unnecessary and the finished dimensions also becomes accurate. Accordingly, the man-hour is reduced and the product accuracy is also improved.
