PURPOSE:To omit the trouble of detecting the running direction of a roll film by providing a display means which indicates the running direction of the roll film on or nearby a screen. CONSTITUTION:This reader printer is equipped with the screen 2 which has plural photoelectric elements 1 (1a, 1b,...1e) provided at its lower part as an example of a display means, a roll film carrier part 4 which conveys the roll film 3 where many images are imprinted as shown by an arrow X, and an optical system 5 which projects the images of the roll film 3 on the screen 2. Thus, the display means 1 which indicates the running direction of the roll film is provided on the screen 2, so an operator can confirm the running direction of the roll film over a lock at the screen 2 and the reader printer which eliminates the trouble for retrieval is obtained.
