PURPOSE:To reduce a torque shock after acceleration as well as to aim at improvement in emission performance, by altering a decremental rate according to acceleration when incremental fuel is reduced at the acceleration. CONSTITUTION:Each signal out of an air flow meter 15, a throttle valve opening sensor 16, etc., is inputted into a controller 25, controlling an injection quantity of a fuel injection valve 9. When an accelerating state is detected from a throttle valve opening variation, the injection quantity is increased as much as the quantity conformed to a degree of acceleration. Afterward, when incremental fuel is reduced, acceleration is operated from a variation in throttle valve opening, and when the acceleration is less than the specified value, it is judged to be a stationary driving state, whereby the incremental fuel is quickly decreased, but the acceleration is more than the specified value, it is judged to be a low accelerating state, having the incremental fuel decreased slowly. With this constitution, a torque shock after acceleration is abatable.
