<p>PURPOSE:To simply detect the shape of a metal strip bar on-line by pressing a ring restraining the side face of a shape detecting roll to the metal strip bar under rolling and detecting the difference in the right and left pressures thereof via a supporting roll. CONSTITUTION:The ring 5 restraining the side face of a metal strip bar pressing a shape detection roll 3 to the metal strip bar 2 under rolling is provided at the right and left parts. Before and behind said roll 3 the vertical connection plates 7a, 7b linking the right and left bearing parts thereof are provided. The rolls 8a, 8b supported by the bearing which horizontally bears these connection plates 7a, 7b in the center right angled direction of said roll 3 are provided further. These rolls 8a, 8b are preferably made larger at their shafts diameter. The fixed deflection detecting shaft 9 which is co-axial with the roll 8a at one side thereof and in smaller diameter is provided and a deflection gage 10 is fitted thereon. The difference in the pressures differing in the right and left received by the shape detection roll 3 is detected by the deflection detecting shaft 9 via said supported roll 8a and the shape of the metal strip bar 2 under rolling is thus detected.</p> |
