<p>PURPOSE:To protect an engine, by a method wherein a load for the engine is detected by the operating condition of the engine and a load, loaded on a generator, is removed when the engine is brought into an overload operating condition. CONSTITUTION:A generator 16 for the power source of welding and another generator 17 for auxiliary power source are connected to the output shaft of an engine. A load detecting sensor 27 is formed by a temperature sensor, arranged in the exhaust system of the engine to detect the loading condition of the engine by detecting an exhaust temperature. When an overload condition for the engine is continued for a given period of time, a relay switch 28 opens a field circuit 26. Accordingly, a field coil is not conducted and the generator 17 for the auxiliary power source stops the generation of electric power. As a result, the load of the engine becomes only the generator 16 for the power source of welding.</p> |
