DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SAMPLING LIQUID SAMPLE

PURPOSE:To sample a drawn filtrate in a short period and to permit efficient back washing of a filter member with a small amt. of sterile water by sucking and drawing the filtrate past the filter member through the recesses of a spacer member. CONSTITUTION:The clean filtrate past the filter medium 10 flows through respective grooves 11a extending in the circumferential direction of the spacer member 11 and joins respectively to each other at 4 pieces of the grooves 11b extending in the axial line direction; thereafter, the filtrate joins to each other at 4 pieces of the grooves 11c formed at the rear end part and further the filtrate flows through a flow passage of a set screw 15 and an internal conduit pipeline of a pipe 12. The set screw 15 is interposed with a sealing member 16 and a cap 17 and is screwed to the pipe 12 to fix the filter member 10, the spacer member 11 and the pipe 12 and to prevent the infiltration of a culture liquid from the end of the unit body. The filter member 10 is back washed by the sterile water or sterile liquid supplied from a tube 6 and is sterilized by the steam supplied thereto.
