PURPOSE:To prevent the generating of data destruction and to obtain a good overwriting characteristic by absorbing an inductive voltage to occur at other coil side for recording and reproducing when a recording current is fed to one side coil for recording and reproducing from a recording and reproducing circuit. CONSTITUTION:When recording currents i1 and i2 flow at one side coil 4 for recording and reproducing, a magnetic field for recording occurs at a head core 3 where the coil 4 for recording and reproducing is wound, and a prescribed signal is recorded at a recording medium 1. The leaking part of a magnetic field for recording to occur simultaneously is interlinked with other coil 12 for recording and reproducing, a diode pair 18 is serially connected to a damping resistance 16 while an inductive voltage e1 occurs by this, the inductive current to flow at the coil 2 for recording and reproducing is limited by these diodes, and the inductive magnetic field to occur at other head core 11 is made smaller. Thus, the recording surface of the recording medium 1 does not come to the data destruction, and by increasing the recording current to flow at the coil for recording and reproducing, the overwriting characteristic can be made good.
