摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify a work process and to reduce the manufacturing cost by forming a rack tooth form directly on a spline shaft to be combined with a pinion and rotating the pinion whereby an outer cylinder and the spline shaft are forced to relatively conduct a rectilinear motion. CONSTITUTION:A pair of raceway grooves 20, 20 are formed on several places of the inner peripheral surface of an outer cylinder member 12. The raceway grooves 20, 20 form an endless circuit. A lot of balls B are put in the endless circuit in the outer cylinder member 12, and a spline shaft 10 is movable inserted in the outer cylinder member 12. At that time, a projecting portion 16 extending in the axial direction is provided on the spline shaft 10, and a substantially L-shaped notch groove 28 is formed. A raceway groove 30 opposite to the raceway groove 20 is formed on the side of the projecting portion 16 of the notch groove 28. The peripheral portion 32 excluding the notch groove 28 and the projecting portion 16 has a comparatively large peripheral length. A rack tooth 14 is formed on one of the peripheral portions 32. Thus a work process can be simplified to reduce the manufacturing cost.
