PURPOSE:To miniaturize and thin a time-piece body, by driving a movable element regardless of processing accuracy and assembling accuracy by arranging the movable element, which is formed of a permanent magnet of which both ends are formed into magnetic poles having the same polarity, between the magnetic poles of stators arranged in opposed relation to each other in an reciprocally movable manner. CONSTITUTION:Between the surfaces of the magnetic pole 2, 3 of stators 1, a movable element 4 reciprocally moving along the line connecting both magnetic poles 2, 3 is provided. The movable element 4 is constituted so that permanent magnets 5, 6 are fixed to both ends of a main body 10 composed of a non-magnetic material and the polarities of both ends become the same polarity. Now, when a single-pole drive pulse is applied to an exciting coil 14, the attraction side magnetic pole 2 of the stators 1 attracts the movable element 4 and the opposite side magnetic pole 3 thereof repels the movable element 4. Therefore, the movable element 4 is driven in a right direction against the energizing force of a return spring 11 and the gear 12 on a sec hand shaft steps by one tooth by a feed pawl 7. When the drive pulse disappears, the movable element 4 returns to a neutral position by the spring 11 and, hereinafter, this operation is repeated to continuously drive a sec hand.
