PURPOSE:To enable a quick coping with an abnormality on the center side and a terminal side by recognizing a blocking of a data storage part during communication between the center and the data storage part in the event of the blocking, informing the center of it, and displaying it in the display part of a data communication terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:Connection procedures are executed between a control part 4 and a communication part 5, and a center 7, the line connection is thus established, them the center 7 transmits a data read request A to the data storage part 3. Upon receiving this request A, the control part 3a of the data storage part 3 reads out a data corresponding to the request A from a recording medium 3b and transmits it to the center 7. If the operation of the part 3 is blocked because of some cause, since a data signal is not transmitted from the part 3, the control part 4 transmits to the center a signal signifying the blocking of the operation of the part 3. Simultaneously with this, a message such as 'operation of data storage part blocked' is displayed in the display part 2 of the terminal equipment to inform an operator of the abnormality. Also, the holding state of a holding device 3c is released.
