PURPOSE:To obtain a high molecular light guide simply by pouring plastic resin having high refractive index into a waveguide part or lattice part of a resinous substrate and shaving off the overflowed part out of the resinous substrate. CONSTITUTION:A die 1 provided with a protruded part 1a is prepd., and a resinous substrate 3 is produced by pouring plastic resin 2 into the die 1 and hardening the resin. The substrate 3 has a waveguide part or lattice part 4 engraved and formed as indentation by the protruded part. Then, plastic resin 5 having high refractive index is poured onto the surface of the resinous substrate 3 and the resin 5 is hardened. Polycarbonate, or polystyrene having high refractive index is suitable as the resin 5. The part overflowed out of the surface of the substrate 3 of the resin poured onto the resinous substrate 3 is shaved off with a sharp cutting tool, etc., thus, an light guide 6 having the shape coinciding to the shape of the waveguide part 4 is prepd.
