PURPOSE:To secure the safety in the use of gas, by monitoring the whole of the gas supply system on the downstream side of a solenoid valve under the timewise variation of the pressure of the gas after said solenoid valve is closed to monitor the leakage of the gas. CONSTITUTION:One end of gas piping 1 is connected to a gas supply source and the other end thereof is connected to gas appliances G1-Gn through gas stopcocks 7. A solenoid valve 2 is provided to the upstream part of the piping 1 and a pressure sensor 3 converting gas pressure to an electric signal is provided on the downstream side thereof. When abnormality is detected in a control panel 2, this state is preliminarily stored and, when a use start switch 4a is operated, it is judged whether the abnormality detected is stored prior to return inspection before the use of gas and, when there is memory, the return inspection is performed and, when there is no memory, the valve 2 is immediately brought to an open state. In the inspection of gas leakage before use, when no abnormality is detected, the valve 2 is temporarily opened after the pressure of the gas in the piping 1 falls to predetermined pressure and subsequently closed to compare the memory value of the gas pressure with the gas pressure value after a definite time and, when the lowering in pressure reaches a predetermined value or more, the inspection of gas leakage for detecting abnormality is performed.
