PURPOSE:To obtain a document forming apparatus which can satisfy user's various requests by being able to set a line feeding pitch in case of both inch and mm units. CONSTITUTION:Line feeding pitch information is composed of an identifier for indicating inch or mm unit and a line feed setting value. The identifier has '0' for the inch and '1' for the mm. The line feeding pitch can be set by 0.1mm unit in case of the mm unit, and 1/24 inch unit in case of the inch unit. In case of the mm unit, it can be set by 10 times multiplied value, while in case of the inch unit, it can be set by 24 times multiplied value. Thus, in case of setting the line feeding pitch, the mm unit and the inch unit can be easily switched. The line feeding set value may be integer number input in case of both the mm unit and the inch unit. Accordingly, a free format can be set to be able to form various documents.
