PURPOSE:To imprint a data character to an appropriate position with respect to a set photographic picture, by providing plural imprinting optical system, and selecting electrically the imprinting optical system, based on photographic picture size information. CONSTITUTION:When a standard size picture is selected, a high signal is inputted to an F/H signal terminal 5c of an imprinting IC5 from a camera body size circuit 10. On the other hand, when a photographer executes photographing, an imprinting trigger signal is inputted as a high signal to a terminal 5b. As a result, an output of an AND circuit 7 goes to a high signal, a transistor TR1 is turned on, an incadescent lamp 1 emits a light beam and its light beam passes through a mask part 2b of a transmission type liquid crystal display body 2, and a data is imprinted into a film. On the contrary, when half size photographing is selected, a transistor TR2 is turned on, and by a light beam which has passed through a mask part 2c of the display body 2 by a light emission of an incadescent lamp 11, the data is imprinted into a half size picture of the film.
