CONSTITUTION:The magneto-optical recording material has a composition represented by a composition formula (Co1-aMa)100-y(R1-cTc)y (where M means at least one element among Al, Ti, Fe, Ni, Zr, Nb, Ta, Cr, P, B, and platinum group elements, R means Pr of Nd, T means at least one element among Gd, Tb, Dy, and Ho, and the symbols (a), (c), and (y) stand for, by atom, 0-<0.5%, >0-<1%, and 14-36%, respectively) and, when used as a film for perpendicular magnetic recording, it can provide sufficient regeneration output and has superior corrosion resistance.
