PURPOSE:To aim at reducing the grinding power of a large diameter dressing member by forming a plurality of grooves in the circumferential surface of a disc dressing part of a dressing member for a hard abrasive particle grindstone, the grooves being inclined with respect to the axis of the dressing member. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of groove 121 are formed in the circumferential surface 120 of a dressing part 12 of a dressing member 1 for a hard abrasive particle grindstone, the grooves being inclined with respect the axis O and being formed at predetermined angular intervals in the circumferential surface so that one groove 121 always exists in a part of the circumferential surface which is made into contact with the use surface of a hard abrasive particle grindstone to be dressed, thereby it is present successively. Accordingly, if the diameter of the dressing part 1 is made to be large in order to lower the frequency of replacement of the dressing member 10, the contact surface area thereof may be decreased due to the provision of the grooves so as to lower the grinding resistance value, thereby it is possible to lower the power required for grinding.
