1283479 Rotory table bottle cap lining apparatus CONTINENTAL CAN CO Inc 10 March 1970 [24 March 1969] 11399/70 Addition to 1131589 Heading B5A [Also in Division G1] A machine, for compression moulding plastics liners on to bottle closure caps, comprises a rotatable turret 2 carrying fixed upper die carrying clamping assemblies and vertically reciprocable cam actuated lower cap carrying clamping assemblies. The turret is provided with an electrically heated ring 1 against which the die carrying clamp members 26 are secured by bolts 38, a heat transfer plate 27 of steel being interposed behind each member 26 and the ring. A locator 17 is associated with each plate 27 and is provided with downwardly pointing projectors adapted to centre the cap on the opposite located supporting clamp member 18. The members 18 are radiantly heated by a pair of co-operating semicircular heaters 28, 28a which extend around the turret. The ring and the heaters are controlled by separate thermostats each responsive to a temperature serving device (not shown) embedded in the plate of a single die 26.
