PURPOSE:To prevent an oxide film layer on the surface of a photosensitive body from being destroyed completely by a separation claw and to prolong the life of the photosensitive body by forming an oxide film naturally to the thickness of an oxide film layer ground by the separation claw when the separation claw circulates in a prescribed range to return to its original position. CONSTITUTION:A moving member 5 has a control part which moves the front edge part of the separation claw 2 to an adjacent part in order every time a prescribed numbers of sheets of paper are separated and shifts the abutting position of the front end part to the surface of the photosensitive body 9 cyclically within the prescribed range. Namely, the front end part of the separation claw 2 is pressed against the surface of the photosensitive body at the same position until a prescribed number of sheets of paper are separated. Then the front end parts of the separation claw 2 is moved to the adjacent part successively every time a prescribed number of sheets of paper are separated, and the press-contacting position of the front end part to the surface of the photosensitive body is moved cyclically within the prescribed range. When the front end part of the separation claw 2 circulates within the prescribed range to return to its original position, an oxide film is formed naturally to the thickness of an oxide film layer shaved by the separation claw 2.
