INPUT DEVICE FOR HANDWRITTEN CHARACTER

PURPOSE:To eliminate the apparent shift between the input and display positions by calculating the shift value of an input character received from a center coordinates of a character frame against this center coordinates and displaying the character holograph with the next input character with a shift given from a position indicated by an indicating part in the direction opposite to the shift direction by the shift value of the center coordinates. CONSTITUTION:An eye 8 of an input operator is shifted in the direction 11 from a point right above the indicating position of a stylus pen 1 and views a picture element 9 from the direction set at an angle theta. Thus the operator sees apparently the element 9 displayed on the surface of the protection glass 3-b at a position 10 shifted from the position indicated by the pen 1 in the direction 11 by a distance DELTAl=tXtantheta (t: thickness of glass 3-b). Thus the holograph of the input character seems as if it shifted from the input position of the pen 1 in the direction 11 by the distance DELTAl. In this respect, the element 9 is displayed with shift given in the direction opposite to the direction 11 by the parallax value DELTAl as long as this value DELTAl is known. Thus the element 9 is apparently displayed at the position designated by the pen 1 for the operator due to the parallax. In such a way, an apparent shift is eliminated between the input and display positions and the natural input of characters is secured like such a case where characters are written on the paper.
