Waxes for coating ski soles, characterised in that they consist of particles of substantially circular section whose diameter differs, on the one hand, as a function of the precise nature and composition of the envisaged waxes and, on the other hand, as a function of the different types of particle sizes of snow, so that the determination of the wax which is suited to the circumstances can be made by superposing a sample of each type of wax particles and a printed illustration of the main types of particle size. <IMAGE>
