The invention relates to a separating device especially for lily-of-the-valley plants. This separating device is characterised in that it comprises a conveyor belt 1 on which the plants to be separated are spread out in a layer, a belt 2 for feeding and washing the plants which is positioned upstream, a discharge belt 3 positioned downstream, and an unmixing system positioned above the conveyor belt and consisting, on the one hand, of a set of pairs 4 of transverse vertical combs, the pairs being placed at some distance above the belt 1, the combs 5, 6 of each pair being arranged so as to move, in a parallel fashion, away from and towards the upper side (strand) and, on the other hand, of means for moving, in synchronism, the pairs of combs so as to perform and repeat the following cycle: simultaneous lowering of the combs in order to penetrate into the plant mass, mutual separation of the two combs 5, 6 of each pair 4 and return into the high position away from the plants and with the combs of each pair brought together.
