PURPOSE:To facilitate a maintenance management by extending a wire body so as to be movable between a yoke and a table, and connecting the end part of the yoke side and the end part of the table side to a cross head, respectively. CONSTITUTION:When a pair of right and left lower sprockets 8b are synchronized and rotated by a motor 10, a pair of right and left chains 8c move upward and downward, and a cross head 6 ascends and descends. To a specimen which is held by the upper gripping tool 4 and the lower gripping tool 13 fixed to a table 1, a load such as tension, compression, etc., is applied. The cross head 6 is guided by a machine column 2 through a linear bearing 7, therefore, ascends and descends without rocking to the right and left, and back and forth. In case of holding a prescribed load state, the prescribed load state is held by providing a rotation detecting device such as a pulse encoder, etc., on the upper or lower sprocket, detecting a rotation of the sprocket at the time of holding a load, and applying a feedback to the motor.
