PURPOSE:To read and write data with no address information received from outside by giving a code corresponding to a label name from outside to retrieve an address in response to said label name and giving an access to the area of the retrieved address. CONSTITUTION:A command and a code corresponding a label name are given to an IC card 1 from a card reader/writer 5. In case a read command 'read' is given together with a code 'ZANDAKA' (balance) corresponding to the label name, for example, the address information '020A' corresponding to said code and the information '0005' showing the data length are retrieved out of a control area 3 based on the code. Then data are read out by 5 bytes out of an area 41 of the address '020A' and given to the card reader/writer 5. Thus it is possible to give an access to a memory area without designating any address from outside.
