PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the cell characteristic by adding a chemically stable lanthanide rare earth metal to fused carbonate at the operating temperature. CONSTITUTION:Carbonyl nickel powder and metal lanthanum powder are mixed, the mixed powder is kneaded with a methyl cellulose aqueous solution into slurry, which is then molded into a sheet. The sheet thus obtained is dried and calcined in the air then sintered in the hydrogen atmosphere to form a fuel electrode 2. That is, a lanthanide rare earth metal is diffused in the fuel electrode 2 catalyst mainly made of nickel. Accordingly, the sintering and coagulation between nickel grains rarely proceeds during the cell operation, the gasification diameter and shape are stabilized for a long time, and the deterioration of the cell characteristic can be suppressed. |
