PURPOSE:To obtain the title glass forming device easy to handle and having excellent productivity by providing a specified housing, a chamber wherein air is replaced by an inert gas, a means for delivering a forming die into the housing, a conveying means, and a die pressing arm to the device. CONSTITUTION:The forming die W contg. the glass to be formed is placed in the chamber 11, the air in the chamber is replaced by N2, etc., and then the die W is transferred by a rod 7 onto a rail 29A at the heating part A in the housing 1. A rod 42 is rotated clockwise, and the die W is inserted into the heating part A, a pressure forming part B, and a cooling part C which are separated by heat shielding plates 31 and 32 by the conveying means 40 through the die pressing arms 43A, 43B, and 43C. The rod 42 is moved at a requisite speed to press the guard rails 29A, 29B, and 29C which are communicated with each other, and advanced to a specified distance. The rod 42 is then returned to the initial position and rotated counterclockwise, hence the arm 43A, 43B, and 43C are returned to the initial positions. The movement is repeated, the rails are successively communicated, and the work is continuously formed while controlling the temp.
