PURPOSE:To attain a sufficient adhesive strength and to enhance the reliability of a magnetic head core by previously adhering the material of a magnetic gap space to the gap forming surface of a core and the inner surfaces of track grooves so as to form a film and glass-molding the track grooves. CONSTITUTION:Mn-Zn monocrystal ferrite that has a high saturation flux density and a high resistivity is used as a core material, and the track groves 6, 6... are cut and formed by a dicer. In the core block 1, a SiO2 layer 13 made of the magnetic gap spacer is spattered on the magnetic gap forming surface and the inner surface 6' of the track groove 6. The thickness of the layer 13 is set to half the formed gap length when the core blocks 1 and 1 are formed. As for the core block on one side, the thickness is set roughtly equal to the gap length. Low melting point Pb or silica-based glasses 14, 14... are molded in the grooves 6, 6... where the layer 13 is inwardly formed. The butted surface is smoothed.
