PURPOSE:To facilitate handling and to enhance contrast by coating the main body of a liquid crystal display element directly with a reflective film. CONSTITUTION:A reflective guest-host type liquid crystal display element requires no polarizing plate contrary to a twisted nematic liquid crystal display element (TNLCD). The reflective guest-host type liquid crystal display element is coated with a reflective film 5 directly on its main body by the printing, vapor depositing, or spraying method, or the like. Since the main body of the liquid crystal display element is coated with the film 5, handling is made easy, and contrast can be also enhanced due to using no adhesive or sticky material. The manufacture of the liquid crystal display element is simple and its automation is possible, too. |
