PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of overheating, by installing plural guide grooves in an inner surface of a trumpetlike deflecting yoke along the tube shaft of a CRT, and housing a saddlelike horizontal deflecting coil and a toroidal vertical deflecting coil in these grooves. CONSTITUTION:A deflecting yoke 1 has plural guide grooves 5 extending in the axial direction of a CRT, in the inner surface at regular intervals, and each interspace among them comes to a protuberance or a crest 6, so that a vertical deflecting coil 2 and a horizontal deflecting coil 4 are housed in these grooves 5. If the number of storage pieces of these vertical and horizontal deflecting coils 2 and 4 is allotted to these grooves 5 according to the design of each deflecting coil, a precision electromagnetic deflection is manufacturable in good repeatability. These vertical and horizontal deflecting coils 2 and 4 are not projected out of an inner surface of the deflecting yoke, and a magnetic field to be produced in these vertical and horizontal deflecting coils 2 and 4 when assembled can be directly entered in the protuberance 6. With this constitution, an eddy current is sharply reduced and, what is more, a dielectric loss and a copper loss both are reduced, thus a fear of overheating is eliminated.
