PURPOSE:To attain a display without regularity by obtaining a difference of count between a pulse signal inputted to a prescribed register at each gate time and a stored count and correcting the count of the register when the difference exceeds a setting value. CONSTITUTION: A pulse signal corresponding to a speed of an automobile is counted by a counter 5 at each gate time set by a timer 6 and stored in the 1st register 1 and the data is shifted to the 2nd and 3rd registers 2, 3. When the difference between the count of the 1st register 1 and that of the registers 2, 3 except the 1st register 1 is a set value or over, a correction circuit 10 uses the sum of a -(+) 1, e.g., to the count of the 1st register 1 if the automobile is in the accelerating/decelerating state as the correction value and rewrites the result to the count of the 2nd and the 3rd registers 2, 3. Then the counts of each register to be corrected are summed and converted into a speed data by an arithmetic circuit 8 and displayed on a display circuit 9.
