1351382 Disperse monoazo dyestuffs derived from thiophene IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 21 Dec 1971 [11 Jan 1971] 1217/71 Heading C4P Novel dyestuffs, free from sulphonic and carboxylic acid groups, of the formula wherein D is lower alkyl sulphonyl, lower alkyl carbonyl, or optionally substituted benzoyl; X is an acylamino group containing more than one carbon atom; Y is H, Cl, Br, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R is H, lower alkyl, cyano lower alkyl, phenyl lower alkyl, or when Z is lower alkoxy carbonyl, a group -A-Z; A is lower alkylene; and Z is lower alkoxy carbonyl or lower alkyl carbonyloxy; in which "lower alkyl", "lower alkoxy" and "lower alkylene" refer to groups of 1-4 carbon atoms, are prepared by coupling a diazotized 2-amino-3-nitro- 5-D-thiophene with an appropriately substituted aniline. The dyestuffs are used to colour synthetic textile materials in yellow to green shades. |
