PURPOSE:To open or close a gate automatically according to downstream water level and prevent counter-flow from being caused, by connecting one end of a bearing arm having a fulcrum, to the vertically movable gate, and by fitting a hollow weight at the other end. CONSTITUTION:On the upper section of a vertically moving gate 10, one end of a bearing arm 15 is rotatably fitted, and the intermediate section of the bearing arm 15 is supported with a fulcrum 16, and at the other end of the bearing arm 15, a hollow weight 20 is fitted. When the level of the downstream D is heightened to come to a warning water-level B, then the hollow weight 20 floats-up with a buoyancy, and the gate 10 is lowered to come to a position K. When the water-level is heightened furthermore and the float 20 comes to a position C, then the gate 10 is lowered to come to a position E and is totally closed. As a result, the gate 10 can be opened or closed in an unattended state, and counter flow can be prevented from being caused.
