PURPOSE:To obtain a knowledge base applicable to plural application systems by providing a retrieving system and a knowledge base which is retrieved by said retrieving system. CONSTITUTION:A circuit design knowledge base 101 and a circuit design inference 102 form a circuit designing expert system together with a circuit knowledge base 106 and a circuit knowledge retrieving part 105. While a circuit diagnosis knowledge base 103 and a circuit diagnosis inference part 104 form a circuit diagnosing expert system together with the base 106 and the part 105. Both bases 101 and 103 function as active knowledge bases and are interpreted by the parts 102 and 104. The base 106 serves as a passive knowledge base which are shared by two expert systems and is retrieved by the part 105. The part 102 or 104 produces a retrieving instruction to the part 105. Thus, the passive knowledge base can be applied to plural application systems. |
