<p>Distribution of a stream of metal into >=2 vessels using a channel which branches out into several arms, and which is slightly inclined and may be tilted transversely relative to the metal flow. Pref. unit is Y-shaped and each arm is suspended from the end of a rope permitting setting of the slope of each distribution channel to achieve the desired metal distribution into two ladles. The method is used in steel production when transferring refined metal from a converter into ladles of different capacities, and permits simple automatic control by linking lade scales with a rope adjusting mechanism.</p> |
