PURPOSE:To improve a workability in melting and to reduce the energy loss as well by giving an alternating field to the molten metal in a ladle from the outside of the fire-proof heat insulation material of the ladle and performing the induction heating of the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A ladle 1 is composed of the ladle main body 2 consisting of the nonmagnetic material of a stainless steel, etc., and the fire-proof heat insulation material 3 lined on the inner side of this ladle main body 2. The ladle 1 is placed on a placing base 10 and 1st cores 8a, 8b are opposed to the magnetic pole parts 11a, 11b of a 2nd core 11. When the 2nd core 11 is excited by electrifying a coil 14, an alternating field 16 is caused in the molten metal 15 in the ladle 1 through the 1st cores 8a, 8b and the induction heating of the molten metal 15 is performed. The workability in melting is thus improved and the energy loss can be reduced as well.
