PURPOSE:To provide a relief image on transfer foil by bringing a thermal head into pressurized contact via a release film with the compression-bonded surface side of the thermocompression-bonded hologram transfer foil, allowing the head to generate heat selectively, partially adhering the foil and stripping the same, thereby forming the relief image on the transfer foil. CONSTITUTION:The transfer foil 1 is formed by using a polyester film 11 as a base material, forming a prescribed resin layer 12, providing an embossed hologram and superposing a vapor-deposited Al layer 13 and an adhesive layer 14 consisting of a vinyl chloride/acetate resin or thermoplastic resin thereon. The release film 2 is formed by superposing a polyester film 21 and an adhesive agent layer 22 consisting of an urethane resin. The head 3 is selectively energized to generate heat according to recording patterns and the transfer foil 1 and the release film 2 are moved in an arrow direction. The layers 22 and 14 are thermally welded in the heat generating part of the head. The transfer foil 1, when stripped, transfers to the film 2 and the relied image corresponding to the foil is obtd. The vapor-deposited Al film 13 is thin and does not hinder the stripping. The adhesive power between the base material 11 and the resin layer 12 are substantially weak so that the stripping is stably executed.
