Sledge drive for a drawing machine

A description is given of a drive for sledges (1, 2) of a drawing machine which has a drive shaft (8) arranged in a fixed location in the machine frame (7) below the drawing plane (9), on which shaft are arranged two pairs of cams (4-6). The cams (4-6) can be moved axially in pairs relative to the machine frame (7) on the shaft (8) or on sleeves (13, 14) arranged on the shaft. They rotate with the shaft (8). One of the cams (4) of each pair (3, 4) serves to guide the sleeve (23) relative to the machine frame and is guided on the latter, while the other (3) guides the associated sledge (1) relative to the sleeve (13). The shaft, the sleeve and the associated sledge move apart in the manner of a telescope. Engagement of the cams by a pair (32, 33) of rollers preferably takes place directly below the path of the sledges (1, 2). One cam of one pair of cams can also be arranged on the inner circumference of the sleeve. <IMAGE>
