In the case of a known waveguide, the tongue is used for converting a predetermined field distribution. The rigid mounting of the tongue in each case enables only one conversion into a single, different field distribution. The novel waveguide is intended to increase the possibilities for field conversion. The possibilities for conversion of a predetermined field distribution are increased in that the tongue is mounted adjustably. The waveguide is suitable for use wherever a predetermined field distribution is intended to be converted in a simple manner into more than one other field distribution. This is the case, for example, in converters for receiving systems for satellite communication. <IMAGE>
