PURPOSE:To improve a joining strength and to reduce a manufacturing cost by forming a film by coating a phosphoric acid or phosphate solution on a copper made clad material and performing a hot rolling by combining it with the base metal made of carbon steel. CONSTITUTION:A surface film is first formed by drying a phosphoric acid or phosphate solution by coating it on the adhering face of a copper made clad material. A slab is thereafter assembled by overlapping it with a carbon steel made base metal and welding the periphery. In this case, the slab may be formed by inserting a Ni foil in the space between the clad material and base metal. A copper clad steel plate is thereafter obtd. by subjecting these slabs to a hot rolling. Owing to the formation of an oxidized film on the surface of the clad material being prevented by the slab assembly welding and the heating at rolling time the joining strength of a clad steel plate is improved. The manufacturing cost is reduced as well because of the stage for Ni plating treatment being omitted. |
