METHOD FOR MEASURING BURDEN IN BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To grasp the distribution of a burden and to stabilize production by detecting the mixing ratio between starting materials and the thickness of a layer at a class changing section from two or more peak values of a detected wave-form at the changing section measured with a magnetic sensor placed at a prescribed position. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic sensor for a burden in a blast furnace consisting of ore and coke is placed at a prescribed position, and changes in the output with the lapse of time are continuously detected at a section where the class of the burden is changed. The difference in height and the difference in time between at least two peak values present on a detected wave-form are calculated. The mixing ratio between ore and coke and the thickness of a layer at the changing section are detected from the differences. The distribution of a burden is accurately grasped and production is stabilized.
