<p>PURPOSE:To send pictures of several series simultaneously by a single coder by adopting the constitution such that the several series of picture signals are multiplexed and coded into one picture form. CONSTITUTION:Input picture signals A-D are digitized by an A/D conversion circuit 15 and separated into a luminance signal Y and a color difference signal C by a Y/C separation circuit 16, and subject to time division multiplex during one line period at a YC time division multiplex circuit 17. Then a parallel sub-sample circuit 3 is subject to sub-sample by 1/4 under the control of a picture multiplex control circuit 6. In this case, the picture multiplex control circuit 6 controls the total sum of each picture signal after sub-sample so as not to exceed a normal one frame picture element number in the sub-sample ratio in one frame. The picture signals AS-DS subject to sub-sample are multiplexed into one picture signal form by the control of a picture multiplex control circuit 6 by the picture multiplex circuit 4. Then the signal is subject to band compression coding by the coding method such as inter-frame DPCM in the picture coding circuit 8 and a coded output is obtained.</p> |
