PURPOSE:To efficiently recover a toner from a brush by selecting sectional shapes of the brush and a flicker as prescribed to promote the toner spattering effect. CONSTITUTION:The line connecting a point A, where a flicker 30 which maximally bits into a brush 22 rubbing an image carrier 10, and a point B where a circle described with front ends of a fur body 29 of the brush 22 and the flicker 30 cross each other below in the rotation direction of the brush is defined as l1, and the line connecting the point A and the center of the brush 22 is defined as l2, and an angle theta1 of intersection between lines l1 and l2 is selected to be narrower than 45 deg.. An angle theta2 of intersection between the line l1 and a segment AC connecting the point A and a point C, where said circle of the brush and the flicker 30 cross each other above in the rotation direction of the brush, is made equal to or wide than the angle theta1. Thus, the spattering effect of the toner stuck to the brush is promoted. The brush with the flicker constituted in this manner is rubbed against the image carrier, and this brush is used together with a destaticizing electrode above, an elastic roll, and a scraping blade below to effectively recover the remaining toner. |
