摘要 The invention relates to an electrochemical cell, in particular to an activable primary cell of the lithium thionyl chloride type, in which the metal anode, preferably lithium (3) is situated on the inside wall of a cell can (2). Adjacent to the latter on the inside and separated by a separator (4), which is also cylindrical, is the cathode, which is composed of metal or carbon. Next to the latter on the inside is a collector (6) which is made of a conducting material such as stainless steel and which has an external negative terminal (12) for collecting current. Situated inside the collector (6) in a breakable (glass) ampoule (7) is the liquid electrolyte. The ampoule (7) narrows towards the bottom in the shape of a bottle neck. To activate the cell, a mechanical pressure is exerted on the bottle closure so that the glass fragments fall downwards. The electrolyte is then able to pass through the glass fragments and make its way upwards to the cathode (5) and completely wet the latter. It is only after this wetting is essentially complete that the cell is activated, that is to say the necessary specified voltage is available for the operation. The object of the invention is to shorten the activation time required markedly and, at the same time, make it more reproducible.
