PURPOSE:To decrease the number of speed changes by providing memory maps storing a speed change line when controlling only an automatic speed change control means and a speed change line when concurrently controlling the automatic speed change control means and a constant-speed travel control means respectively. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer CPU is fed with various signals from a car speed sensor SP1, a speed sensor SP2 of an automatic transmission output shaft, a shift position switch SPS, etc. and drives actuators for automatic transmission SL1-SL3 in accordance with the speed change line preset in a built-in memory map of only the automatic speed change control if a mode switch MS is set to the automatic speed change control mode at the position P. On the other hand, if the mode switch MS is set to the position A and the automatic speed change/constant-speed travel control mode is selected, the actuators for automatic transmission SL1-SL3 are driven according to the speed change line of the corresponding memory map with a wider preset hysteresis width to perform the constant-speed travel control. Accordingly, the number of speed changes is decreased, and a hunting caused by speed changes can be prevented from occurring.
