PURPOSE:To prevent a removed and recovered toner from being leaked and scattered to the outside by sucking air from a blowing means through an inlet port provided above a cleaning blade. CONSTITUTION:A main duct 50 is arranged in the rear part of a device, and air where the toner is mixed is gathered and carried out from the suction port provided in a proper position. A lower duct 51 is provided under the device and is surrounded with upper and lower face plates 263 and 262 and frame body side plates and has the same width as an image carrier 10 and has an inlet port 511 near the surface of the image carrier. An inlet area 52 is formed into a hollow part with plates 266 and 260, a partitioning wall 267, and mylar plates 268 and 269, and suction port 521 is formed with the upper face of the free end side of a cleaning blade 21 and the plate 266 and closely faces the surface of the image carrier 10 and is extended throughout the carrier 10 in the lengthwise direction. Air in the area 52 is sucked through windows 264 in right and left ends of the plate 260. Meanwhile, air is jetted from a window 611 of a rear face plate 61 of an electrifying electrode 60 through a duct 531. By this constitution, the toner removed and recovered by an elastic roll, a fur brush, and a cleaning blade is not leaked neither scattered out of the device.
