PURPOSE:To easily speed up a recording operation without the deterioration in the elegancy of a printing by rotating a sheet feeding roller intermittently synchronizing with the main scan of a recording head. CONSTITUTION:Being constituted so as to record while the sheet 10 is main- scanned by the revolving motor of a rotor 3, a stepping motor 4 can be used for both driving (main scan) of the rotor 3 and a feeding of the sheet 10 (sub scan of transferring). A circumferential cam 12, provided on the external circum ference of the rotor 3, is constructed so that a high level surface 14 and a low level surface 15 are distributed at a desired angle of circumference, and the difference in level between the high and the low levels 14, 15 coincide with the circular pitch of the slot of a follower roller 13. Thus, when the circular cam 12 rotates towards A-direction together with the rotation of the rotor 3, the follower roller 13 is driven to rotate towards B-direction intermittently synchronizing with this.
