Disclosed is a highly absorbent polymer product with at least partially protruding fibres. These fibres make it possible for the highly absorbent polymer product to interact with a matrix structure, stopping the polymer product becoming delocalised in the produced product. The polymer products of the invention are preferably used in hygiene articles, such as babies' diapers, sanitary protection products and diapers for adults.
