Electronic siren having a microcomputer (6), a digital/analogue converter (7), an amplifier (4) and a loudspeaker (5), the microcomputer (6) generating digital signals, which assign a frequency distribution which consists of a multiplicity of components, the frequency in each component varying linearly with time, and which are necessary for the generation of the desired siren tone, these signals being converted by the digital/analogue converter (7) into an analogue siren signal, which is applied via the amplifier (4) to the loudspeaker (5), in order to operate the latter for the generation of a siren tone. <IMAGE>
